Say hello to lip blush

Lip blush is a semi-permanent lip tattoo: a small needle deposits pigment into the lip skin, adding colour and defining the shape of your lips. The healed result reads as your lips with the perfect tint — not lipstick.

The colour is completely customizable, client to client — bring your favourite everyday lip product for reference.

Expert colour theory advice from Chela, so the tone flatters your undertones.

Most clients return around the 1–1.5 year mark for an annual refresh.

Dark or uneven lips? Start with dark lip neutralization for a perfect canvas.

Lip blush FAQ

Lip blush is a semi-permanent lip tattoo procedure in which a small needle is used to deposit pigment into the lip skin. The procedure is focused on adding colour and defining the shape of the lips. Results can last anywhere from 1–3 years, and most clients return around the 1–1.5 year mark for an annual touch-up session.

Lip blush lasts 1–3 years, depending on your skin, lifestyle and sun exposure. The colour fades softly rather than disappearing overnight, and most clients book an annual refresh around the 1–1.5 year mark to keep the tint fresh.

Absolutely! The colour is completely customizable client to client. Bring your favourite everyday lip product for colour reference, and you’ll also get expert colour theory advice from Chela so the healed tone suits your undertones.

The lips will be brighter in colour for the first 2 days, then fade dramatically over the following 5 days; some clients also experience dryness and peeling of the lip skin. After 7 days your lips feel back to normal. Subtle changes in colour continue until week 6, when you see the final healed result.

In most cases, yes — lip blush and filler work beautifully together. The appointments just need to be spaced out so the lips are fully settled: allow at least 4 weeks between filler and lip blush, in either order. Mention your filler history when booking and we’ll plan the timing with you.

Comfort is a priority. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure and reapplied throughout the appointment. Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching, and many find it far more comfortable than they expected.

Lip blush at Bonafide Beauty is $650 CAD. That includes the full 3 hr 45 min initial appointment — mapping, custom colour matching and the procedure itself — plus one 6–8 week touch-up appointment where the healed result is perfected. Annual refresh sessions later on are priced separately.
