Dark Lip Neutralization

Dark lip neutralization is a semi-permanent makeup tattoo that covers darkness in the lips using a process called micro-pigmentation. Based on the undertones present in the lips, a neutralizing pigment is blended to lighten the darker areas, creating a more even overall appearance to the lips.

Neutralization corrects tone; lip blush adds colour. Neutralization uses corrective pigments to even out darkness first, giving a clean canvas. Lip blush then adds a customized tint and defines the shape. Many clients do one or more neutralization sessions, then finish with lip blush once the tone is even.

The same arc as lip blush: the lips look more intense for the first 2 days, soften over the following 5 days with possible light dryness and peeling, and feel back to normal after about a week. The true healed tone shows at around week 6, which is when we assess whether another session is needed.

A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure and topped up throughout, so most clients feel light scratching rather than pain. Sensitivity varies person to person, but comfort is managed the whole way through.
